Kaniv
Founded in the 11th century by Kyivan Prince Yaroslav the Wise,
this pleasant city is known today mostly as the burial site of Taras Schevchenko, the great Ukrainian poet and artist, the “father” of the modern Ukrainian language. You will visit his museum and gravesite on Chernecha (Monks’) Hill and will enjoy the splendid view. The museum consists of a huge park and an in-door exposition (which is partly closed for reconstruction).
