Zaporizhzhia
Zaporizhzhia is situated on both banks of the Dnieper river extending for 30 km.
In 1770 by the order of the Russian Empress Catherine II between Khortitsa island and Azov Sea a defense line consisting of seven fortresses was built. One of the fortresses was called Aleksandrovska, and later a town called Aleksandrovsk was founded on its territory. In 1921 the town was renamed into Zaporizhzhia.During the city tour you will see the biggest in Europe hydro-electric power station – Dniproges, will visit Khortitsa island with Cossack glory museum, will see the central part of the city.
