Whole day bus trip to Yalta and Alupka (optional tour)
Sevastopol
You will go to a fascinating trip on the southern coast of Crimea from Sevastopol to Yalta, the distance between the cities is 85 km.
During the trip you see magnificent landscapes of Crimean mountains and subtropical sceneries of Crimea, snow-white palaces, resorts and spas, blue waters of the Black Sea and the pearl of the southern coast – Yalta.
You will visit the main place of interest in Alupka – Vorontsov Palace and adjoining park. The palace is designed in late English gothic style. The building lasted for 23 years – from 1828 till 1851 – under supervision of English architect William Gunt. The building material for the Palace was chosen the local diabase, the greenish-grey beautiful and strong stone.
The visit to Livadia Palace continues our trip. The Palace is situated within 3 km from Yalta. This was the summer residence of the late Russian Tsars’ family. The territory was bought in 1834 by Count Pototsky, who had built a palace here and founded a park of 40 acres. In 1910-1911 a new Big Livadia Palace in Renaissance style was constructed on this territory by the project of architect N.P. Krasnov. Each of 58 rooms has original inner decoration. The Livadia Palace is famous also as a place of Yalta conference in February of 1945, attended by the heads of the states of anti-Hitler coalition – USSR, USA and Great Britain.
Uncrowned capital of Southern Crimea, regal Yalta has settled down in an amphitheater of Crimean Mountains between Simferopol and Sevastopol. The oldest and the most beautiful Yalta’s streets is Embankment. This is the main street of the city, as Kreschatyk in Kyiv or Nevski Prospect in Saint Petersburg. Among the magnificent buildings in Yalta are the Armenian Church and one of the cathedrals, consecrated in 1902 in memory of Russian Tsar Alexander the II.
