Sevastopol
Sevastopol was founded in 1784 as naval base, and his history is forever connected with Black Sea Fleet.
The foundation of the city was preceded by centuries-old struggle for getting Crimea back into the Russian state. “Who owns Crimea, that owns also the Black Sea” – that was the definition Prince Grigory Potyomkin gave to the peninsula.Since 1804 Sevastopol has become the main port of the Black Sea. Crimean war turned out a heartrending experience for a city. In 1890 Sevastopol was officially declared the main base of the Black Sea fleet.
During the city tour you will visit the central historic part of the city, St. Vladimir Cathedral, Historic Boulevard, will hear the legendary history of the foundation and life of Sevastopol.
